Is There a Best Age for a Dental Implant Consultation?

Why jaw development matters more than age
Implants require fully developed jawbone, which typically completes by the late teens for most patients. Beyond that threshold, there's no upper age limit — implant candidacy is determined by bone density and overall health, not birthdate.
What we actually assess
A 3D CBCT scan measures bone density and volume directly. Patients in their 70s and 80s with healthy bone are routinely excellent implant candidates, while some younger patients may need bone grafting first.
